Overview
P Series Smoke Alarms are designed to detect smoke at the very early stages of a fire. Detection of visible or invisible particles of combustion (smoke) will initiate an alarm condition and sound the built-in signal.
Completely self-contained, the dual chamber design of the P1235CA provides superior quality, stability and reliability. Models P1275CA and P1276CA have all the features of the P1235CA, with the addition of 9Vdc battery back-up.
The Model PPE120CA Photoelectronic Detector works on the scattered light principle and electronically compensates for ambient light conditions.
All units are compatible and interconnectible (up to 24 units). Interconnected units MUST receive power from the same fuse or breaker. Interconnected detectors ALL sound an alarm. The red LED of the detector that initiates the alarm will flash rapidly.
Options include a Form “C” relay and interconnect module which allows the connection of normally open switching devices such as pull stations.

Applications
Compact and self-contained, these devices provide life safety local warning where smoke is detected. Their principle value is to sound a warning signal in the presence of smoke during sleeping hours. A detector should be installed within the immediate area of all sleeping quarters. Other smoke detectors should be placed in basements, kitchens, garage, etc. for complete property and life safety protection.
Typical Wiring and Installation
Installation to a North American octagon box using the removable base plate is easy. Wiring is made simple with colour coded leads attached to a plug-in connector. When mounting the SM120X module in the same box as the smoke alarm, the use of a deep box or extension ring is recommended.
GE Security recommends that smoke and CO alarms always be installed in accordance with the latest recognized edition of national and local fire alarm codes.
