The RJ Patch Cord Lock works on patch cords that don’t have a strain relief, as well as ones that do.  To attach the lock to the modular plug, first slide the lock over the patch cord.  Then insert the patch cord into the RJ45 jack.  Next, slide the lock forward under the tab.  Finally, secure the two outer set screws down onto the modular plug.
