Operation:

The TCP 20B100 fluorescent emergency ballast works in conjunction with an AC ballast to convert new or existing fluorescent fixtures into emergency lighting. When AC power fails, the 20B100 immediately switches to the emergency mode, operating one lamp at a reduced lumen output for a minimum of 90 minutes. When AC power is restored, the ballast automatically returns to the charging mode.

Emergency Illumination:

The 20B100 produces up to 500 lumens initial emergency light output. During emergency illumination, one lamp is illuminated, even if installed with a multi-lamp AC ballast. Emergency lumen output will be less with a compact fluorescent lamp.

Compatability:

Operates one 17W-40W T8 through T12, one 13W-26W 4-pin compact, ine 18W-36W 4-pin long compact fluorescent lamps. It is also compatible with most one-, two-, three-, and four-lamp electronic, standard, energy-saving and dimming AC ballasts. If used in an emergency-only fixture, no AC ballast is necessary.

Specifications:

The TCP 20B100 emergency ballast consists of a field-replaceable, high-temperature, maintenance-free nickel-cadmium battery, charger and electronic circuitry in a durable painted white finish metal case with a life expectancy of 7 - 10 years. A solid-state charging indicator light to monitor the charger and battery, single-pole test switch and installation hardware shall be provided.

Applications:

The 20B100 is suitable for use in indoor fixtures EXCEPT air handling heated air outlets, and wet or hazardous location fixtures.
